Child safety standards
MODeep is for people aged 18 and over only. We allow no form of child sexual abuse or exploitation.
Zero tolerance
- Abuse materialAny content that shows the sexual abuse or exploitation of children is strictly forbidden, whether a picture, video, drawing, text or made with AI.
- Sexualising childrenContent, comments and jokes that treat children in a sexual way are forbidden too.
- Approaching minorsSexual contact with a child, gaining a child’s trust to abuse them (grooming), asking a child for pictures, abusing a child through threats or promises (sextortion) and child trafficking are forbidden.
- Age limitMODeep is open only to people who are 18 or older. Sign-up asks for the date of birth and under-18s cannot open an account; we close accounts found to belong to minors. The e-Devlet age check required by Turkish law will apply too once it is in force.
What we do
- We look firstChild safety reports go ahead of everything else in the MODeep team’s report queue.
- We remove the contentWe take content against these rules down as soon as we learn of it, within 24 hours at the latest.
- We close the accountAn account that shares such content or approaches a child is banned for good; the ban covers its devices and is applied again to a new account opened with the same email.
- We report to the authoritiesWe report it to law enforcement and the public prosecutor in Türkiye. The records needed are kept as the law allows, only to hand to competent authorities, and we answer their requests.
How to report
- In the appFrom the menu of a message, post, person or server, choose Report and pick Child safety. The person you report does not see who reported them.
- By emailWrite to modeep@modeep.net with the subject “Child safety” and say where the content is (server name or ID, username, date). Do not attach, copy or forward the material; describing where it is is enough.
- In an emergencyIf a child is in danger right now, call your local emergency number (112 in Türkiye and the EU). You can also report child abuse material online straight to the police or the public prosecutor.

Questions
Can under-18s use MODeep?
No. MODeep is for people aged 18 and over only. We close an account found to belong to someone under 18.
Will the person I report know it was me?
No. Reports stay confidential; only the MODeep team sees them.
Should I take a screenshot and send it?
No. Saving or sending an image of child abuse can itself be a crime. Use Report in the app or describe where the content is by email; the team finds it.
I think a child has opened an account.
Report the account in the app or write to us. We look into it and close the account if it belongs to a minor.
